Learn to produce stunning night photographs. The night world offers an opportunity to create unique photographs full of mystery and a special kind of beauty. This hands-on tutorial will be of interest to anyone seeking to improve his or her skills in night photography. While working with existing light and on-camera flash technique, you will be shown how to develop your own working method for making powerful photographs at night.
Topics: Metering and exposure for night photography. How does it differ from working in daylight? The mechanics of night photography; equipment and settings Challenges, opportunities and possible subject matter present in this genre Examples of night photography shown and analyzed Sunrise and sunset; gateways to and from the night world Working with mist and fog Exposure tables - limits and uses What is digital noise and how we reduce it Working with flash at night Concert and event photography Special event photography Dark interiors The importance of camera supports such as tripods and monopods		What you'll learn: To pre-visualize and compose a photograph at night. This knowledge will be enhanced with hands-on experience gained during your night shooting session with the instructor. To choose exciting locations based on your gained knowledge of the vast subject matter suitable for night work To use photographic equipment at night with confidence To work with fundamental night flash techniques such as rear curtain and slow exposure flash if requested To choose the proper ISO, exposure time, and aperture to create the image of choice, leading to an individual style and working method To understand your toolbox and what is available to help to shoot night and low light photography i.e., Image Stabilization and the very high ISO ratings available To be able to make appropriate equipment choices based on knowing the state of the art as it stands right now

Cost:
Each coaching session is four consecutive hours or longer if requested. Cost for one person is $245.00 cdn. The price includes one hour of instructor's travel time within the Greater Toronto Area. Additional travel cost of $75.00 per hour plus expenses will apply outside of this area. Location is determined by the instructor. Working with Groups Worldwide:
All of Michael's workshops can be adapted to group settings and delivered at the location of your choice anywhere in the world. In this case workshop fees are per person; location, travel and production fees will be extra. Detailed estimates are available on request. Michael currently teaches these skills in college programs throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
