Making a fine portrait requires far more than expensive cameras and lenses.
I believe that some of the most enduring portraits are made when there is rapport between the subject and the photographer. For a portrait to be more than a pretty picture, this rapport needs to be real; then it can help to create an atmosphere that allows the essence of the person to come through the photograph. This is how the subject and I work together to create images that say something quintessential about the person.
My approach to portraiture is intuitive, relaxed, and natural-I tend toward a classic, timeless look that reveals character and I work hard with my subjects to create that image.
We work comfortably in formal situations and poses as well as unstructured, candid or reportage style. To learn more about the way I work please visit my blog.
